The Japanese tradition of manufacturing that went back almost 70 years served as a great foundation for the American Kawasaki Motorcycle Corporation, which launched in the mid-1960s. Their first factory was an old meat warehouse in Chicago. This allowed them to produce at a high rate, which helped them secure a foothold in the American market. They started off selling two-stroke motorcycles under the brand Omega. To meet the American consumer desire for powerful motorcycles, they launched the Samurai and Avenger models.
 

Innovating the Powersports Industry
